It's always a team effort

Building a new boat from scratch is always a significant effort.
Giving birth for the first yacht out of a longer series of boats is an
even bigger effort. The core team is this FG 43 project is obviously
the guys at the Finngulf boatyard. But fortunately Finngulf doesn't
have to make everything alone. The team around the new FG43 project is
composed of a larger group of skillful craftsmen and experienced sub
contractors with different kinds of specialties. Everyone is
co-operating according to the project plan. To just name a few out of
the other teams involved one could mention; naturally Farr Yacht
Design, Studio Suppanen, Det Norske Veritas, plug and mould makers
AH-Woods, ScanMould and Scandi Yachts, Maestro Boats who laminate the
hulls and decks, North Sails, Offshore Spars, Panelia who cast the
lead keels and last but not least the proud owner himself and his
crew.
As a part of the sailing crew of FG 43 #001 I have an excellent
opportunity to follow this magnificent project closely. I have to
admit that I'm both very excited and thrilled. Knowing most of the
people involved I trust the team implicitly. The FG43 will be a
spectacular yacht and she will be changing the image of yachting in
Finland. I'm very proud to be a crew member in a team like this. This
summer my job will be calling tactics on board the FG43 s/y Farr Out,
FIN 43001. I can't wait for the Splash Party on May 1st!
