The FG43 Rig Packages

I am very pleased that Offshore Spars has been selected as the mast maker for this exciting new Finngulf 43 project. Offshore Spars is known for building only the highest quality product and having the best customer service in the industry. The rig packages will be built at our factory in Pietarsaari, Finland where we are equipped with a new 33m autoclave for curing composites to aerospace standards. Our Finnish craftsmen have been building masts for among others, Nautor's Swan for over 30 years. The standard mast package will feature an alloy mast profile specifically designed for the 43 and will use stainless steel dyform wire rigging. The optional carbon mast is male moulded and autoclave cured and will feature Navtec rod rigging. The rig is not complicated and will function perfectly for racing and cruising with all sheets and halyards led to the cockpit. It is sufficient to say that this 43 from the Farr Yacht Design office will be lively and perform well in all wind conditions. I like the twin wheels for the helmsman and the open cockpit. Although these details are associated more with flat out racing they do not compromise the cruising concept for this design.
